Isaac Hitchen
By Hutch
Isaac Hitchen and a coterie of older men "regularly assembled... on Monday and Friday evening [at an "infamous house" kept by Issac Hitchen in Great Sankey, a village to the west of Warrington, in north-west England]; and ... they called one another brother." During his trial, Mr. Hitchen refused the offer of a reprieve in return for information that would incriminate others. Instead, he "behaved with much fortitude" while going to his death at the gallows, "on the Drop, erected at the back of [Lancaster] Castle".
